Show Specifics
Junkyard Symphony's show involves lots of live rhythms, fantastic juggling, awesome acrobatic
tricks, hilarious comedy, and of course plenty of audience participation.
There is very little talking in the show; most of the communication is through body language
and whistle instructions, so the show can be understood anywhere in the world. The crowd is prompted to cheer by a young volunteer who holds up a cheer
detergent box and this really gets the audience going.
The show is very interactive as the audience takes part all throughout the performance by clapping to a beat,
doing a drum roll on their laps, counting from one to five and somehow
always missing the number four, and cheering when the cheer box is held up.
The show can be performed as duo or trio.
There is nothing offensive or dangerous in the show.
The performers demonstrate some difficult balancing tricks and feats of fitness but they are professionals and never do anything that they cannot easily do. If anything they
encourage the children to be more than they can be.
The performers remind us that we are all young at heart
and there is no harm in being silly. Sometimes we need to just have fun and enjoy life.
The show can be performed in English, French, and Spanish.
The show is suitable for all ages.
Many clients are impressed how children as young as 4 and 5 years have their attention fixed on the performers for the entire 50 minutes,
or that adults find the show just as entertaining as the kids. Basically this is a show for everyone to enjoy, and that's the best kind of show there is.
Show length:
50 minutes. Two different 50 minute shows are available for each day of a weekend performance.
Set up time:
30 minutes back stage, 5 minutes on stage.
Tear down time:
5 minutes on stage, 20 minutes back stage.
Stage space needed:
10 feet long by 10 feet deep.
Mics for on stage performances:
4 instrument mics, 2 over-head mics, 1 bass drum mic, 1 vocal mic.
Mics for street style performances:
If available, 1 vocal mic, however we can perform without mics.
Lights:
Whatever you got! Go nuts. We aren't picky.
Price:
(2 artists) $2000 CDN per weekend, plus airfare and accomodations for 2.
(3 artists) $3000 CDN per weekend, plus airfare and accomodations for 3. Price is negotiable for different situations with more shows and more time.
